In Britain, we support the work of the
PAIS project
who are available for work with children and young people in schools.
We support the work of the Gideons, who place Bibles in prisons,
hospitals, and schools. Some of our number also act as volunteers in prison
work.
We give to the work of childcare charities and individual
missionaries. We also support ROPE - a group which helps the poor of the
world, and Christian Solidarity worldwide - a ministry to persecuted
Christians.
Overseas Ministry.
Here at Central Pentecostal Church, we also consider
it important to work with people in other countries by providing
encouragement, ministry and finance under God’s guidance, so as to
play our part in seeing the Kingdom of God established throughout
the world.
We believe that the great commission to “Go
and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to
obey everything I have commended you”, is as vital today as
it has ever been.
Our commitment to overseas ministry is therefore an important aspect
of our current strategy and in shaping the church’s future
direction.
This conviction is currently taking us to the countries of Ukraine
and Uganda. We also provide funds and prayer support for ministries
in Congo and Greece, and for the persecuted church worldwide.
UKRAINE
Now that the grip of communism has been broken, many Ukrainian
people are coming to Christ and receiving a clear vision to impact
their country with the message of the gospel.
We are excited to have developed links with the churches in the City
of Zaporizhzhya in eastern Ukraine. Regular visits are being made to
encourage the Christians and to minister in the region, working with
the pastors, workers and translators.
We are also assisting in the development of a Christian Children’s
Home in Zaporizhzhya by providing funding and support. The aim of
the Home is to see disadvantaged children growing up in an extended
family environment, and to see many children won for Christ.
There is no doubt that this is a wonderful time to work alongside
the new Christians in Ukraine. You can be involved in this exciting
initiative by praying for the churches, leaders and new Christians
in the Zaporizhzhya region, and by supporting and praying for the
new Children’s Home being established.
UGANDA
Becky Harrison is working in northern Uganda helping to provide
Christian based aid and relief to the many displaced people and
orphaned children in the Lira region.
She is working with
LightForce International, spending several weeks at a time in
the region working on a variety of projects.
Becky and the LightForce team are touching the lives of 1,000’s of
children and adults, providing them with renewed hope for their
future in this troubled country.
You can be involved in this work by supporting and praying for the
many projects that Becky is involved with, and praying for her
continued safety and health.

FINAL THOUGHT
“As long as it is day, we must do the work of
him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.” (John 9:4)
Whilst we have the opportunities for overseas ministry, we want to
do all we can at Central Pentecostal Church to support our brothers
and sisters in other parts of the world.
We believe that your prayer is vital and will make a real
difference.

Jesus said “I tell you the truth, whatever you
did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”
